KANO (FIC Kano) – Kano state government would construct 484 additional primary health care centers to boost effective health care delivery service in the state.
The Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr. Nasiru Mahmoud disclose this at a press conference on Tuesday 21/5/2019 in Kano State.
Dr. Mahmoud said that the centers would be built in each of the 484 wards of 44 Local Government Councils of the state. He said, “We have gotten the approval of the executive council for this project and we intend
to build 185 new primary healthcare centers annually, this will complement the existing ones under repairs of effective services delivery”.
He revealed that presently the agency controls over 3,000 primary healthcare facilities and have succeeded in transferring about 10, 000 health workers from Local Government to the agency in the past seven years.
