The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has charged Stakeholders in the business of Expatriate Quota Administration to ensure that best objectives are put in the rules of engagement to obtain Business Permit in Nigeria to develop and attract high skilled manpower and technology for our Nation.
The Minister gave this charge during the 2nd Stakeholders Conference on Expatriates ‘Quota Administration in Abuja. He explained that business permit and Expatriate Quota Administration is a global best practice that every Nation adopts to regulate their economic relations for mutual benefit while putting National and Citizens interest to consideration above other Nations.
He emphasized that only a serious national policy and healthy competition will help the country to survive in the test of time with adequate management as it will enable transfer of technology, manpower development and rapid industrialization in to the country.
He also advised stakeholders to put necessary measures in the review of the handbook that will take care of all the abuses and fraudulent activities observed in the process of obtaining business permit in Nigeria.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore commended the Minister for his frantic efforts in ensuring that Nigeria gets her right in providing the best business permit. He said the ministry has established linkage with the Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Inland Revenue Service and Corporate Affairs Commission for Content Development and Monitoring Board to ensure that adequate provision is made to ensure success
In attendance are Permanent Secretaries, Directors of the ministry, representative of other MDAs, Expatriate and stakeholders in the industry.
