The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has said that Nigeria is ready to partner with the Turkish Government in terms of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).
Dr. Onu said this when he received the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar in his office, Abuja on Monday.
The Minister stated that STI has been in the forefront in making sure that the economy moves away from relying entirely on commodities to knowledge that is innovation driven.
In his words, ‘’Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in Nigeria has been at the forefront to help move Nigeria’s economy from relying entirely on commodities, raw materials like crude oil and natural gas to a knowledge and innovation-driven one.
Dr. Onu also extended an invitation to the Turkish Minister of Science and Technology, to enable more cooperation.
Earlier, the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria Hidayet Bayraktar requested the Honourable Minister’s partnership in the area of Technology and Innovation.
