The Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has charged members of Markolima Consultancy Academy (MACA) to carry the message of national commitment to the youths stating that hardwork produced what we see in other countries.
The Minister gave the advice when Officials of the Markolima Consultancy paid him a courtesy visit, in Abuja.
In his remark during the a courtesy visit, Bagudu noted that Nigeria is a great nation and wallowing in self pity will not take us anywhere.
Senator Bagudu further stated that planning is not just for government, stakeholders, development partners as well as interested members of the public and everyone has roles to play in planning processes and implementation. It is all inclusive.
In his words ” Population is on the increase, we are going to reach a number larger than we have today, the question is, how do we plan for this? hence the need for hardwork on all fronts.
He maintained that there is no state in Nigeria where we cannot produce value which can be added to the National pool.
Bagudu expressed the willingness of the federal government to always key into any intervention and initiatives that will make the citizens feel the direct impact of governance, alluding to the fact that “Nigeria is living on acres of Diamond” which must be explored for national development.
Earlier on the. Managing Director of Markolima Consultancy Academy, Comrade Isaac Mtom noted that MACA is a non-political Organization (a Consultancy Academy) based here in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Organization is fully registered with corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with board of directors that seek partnership with government agencies and institution to:
Promote an accountable and transparent governance system, train and facilitate citizens ‘participation in the decision _making process, facilitate an improved and effective free, fair and transparent electoral process, improve the organizational structure and capacity of the Good Governance Awareness Initiative (GGAI), encourage and reward public office holders who have used their positions and offices to deliver democracy dividends and have impacted positively on the society.
The director noted that MACA has put all machinery in place to reward and award public office holders in Nigeria who are doing well in their responsibility in the first one year in office.
Giving the track record of the honourable minister as a governor, senator and in other public services in the past, “We are proud to identify with you and to beam our satellite on your activities as Minister.”, he concluded.
