………..Promises Deployment Of Relief Materials.

The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Abel O. Enitan, and his entourage on behalf of the Ministry paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri over the recent devastating floods that disrupted socio-economic activities of the State.

The Permanent Secretary said the Ministry is deeply saddened about the impact of the floods on the lives and livelihood of the citizenry as well as the developmental efforts of the Governor.

He prayed for the swift recovery for victims of the flood and eternal rest for the souls of the departed. “We hope that such a devastating incident never happens again in Borno State or anywhere else in our nation”.

Enitan disclosed that the Ministry is already engaging with partners to mobilise and deploy Humanitarian intervention to ameliorate the suffering of the victims of the flood. “We stand in solidarity with Your Excellency during this difficult time and offer our support as you work tirelessly to assist those in need”.

He also stated that the Ministry will liaise with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to proffer lasting solutions to flooding caused by over flowing of dams.

The Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Zulum, on behalf of the State and good people of the State expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and and Poverty Alleviation in particular for identifying with the State in this difficult time.
