The Honourable Minister of Education, in collaboration with the World Bank, held a meeting with the Steering Committee on Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equality (HOPE) to discuss the details of a new program aimed at strengthening the education system in Nigeria.
The program, which is set to commence in 2025, aims to improve quality, access, and teacher support and development, as well as address out-of-school children. The Minister expressed delight in receiving the World Bank team and highlighted the mutual benefits of the program, which aligns with the Ministry’s goals.
Practice Manager of Education, World Bank West Africa, Scherezad Latif, emphasized the importance of learning from past experiences and working together to prepare for the next program. The team looks forward to discussing more details on the HOPE education project, which will address quality, access, and out-of-school children in Nigeria.
The meeting marked a significant step towards a productive partnership between Nigeria and the World Bank in improving the country’s education system.
