The National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer, SERVICOM Presidency, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli has stated that with the implementation of the Service Charter of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), is positioned to improve on the services provided to its customers.

Akajemeli stated this at the official launch of NITDAs 5th edition of the Service Charter in Abuja today. Monday 19th, August 2024.

The National Coordinator who stated that the official launch marks a significant step towards service improvement expressed hope that the commitment and enthusiasm as demonstrated would be sustained for the service delivery initiative to make impact in the Agency.

According to her “A Service Charter is a short publication that describes the service experience that can be expected from an organization, adding that it is an MDA’s operational and performance enhancement tool that enshrines the trust between service providers and service takers”.

Akajemeli explained that Service Charter have benefits which includes, indicating commitment at highest level, communicates entitlement, raises expectations amongst customers and staff, enables progress to be measured and improves performance amongst others.

“The SERVICOM office believes that if the service standards slated in the charter are implemented, monitored and performance is reported, NITDA will be repositioned to function optimally, thereby ensuring that all customers are served right”, She said,

“Achieving excellent service in NITDA can only be enhanced through pro-active planning and focusing on ways of improving the quality of what we do at every level within and outside the Agency”, Akajemeli added.

The SERVICOM CEO extended her appreciation to the Director General /CEO of NITDA, Management Team and Nodal Officer SERVICOM for facilitating the production of a suitable service charter.

NITDA Nodal Officer Mrs Taniundu Ndoni, in her earlier welcome address explained that the Service charter is not just a document, but a promise that encapsulate their commitment to provide high quality service, ensuring transparency, and maintaining accountability.

Ndoni, further explain that it outlines the standards of service they can expect from them and the responsibilities they share as partners in the journey.

She also said, “Todays launch is the result of extensive consultation, planning and commitment from every member from the NITDA team”.
