The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo, is calling on Nigerians to shun the nationwide August 1st protests as it can be hijacked by misguided individuals leading to violence, property damage, and even deaths.

While appreciating the fact that demonstrations and protests can be powerful tools for expressing dissatisfaction and advocating for change, he notes that communication and dialogue still remains the preferred course in resolving issues.

The Minister was speaking today at ECWA Garki DCC, Abuja, during a church servic in honour of Rev. Samuel Zaki who was retiring after 40 years of meritorious service in the Lord’s vineyard.

He further enjoined religious leaders traditional rulers and parents to advise their children to shun violence as it is an old model way of seeking redress.

Jisalo, urged Nigerians to be mindful of some individuals with personal agendas that may exploit the protests for their own interests, thereby diverting attention from the original cause.

The Minister, urged the people to give the present administration a chance as the problems have been there before President Bola Tinubu and that the problems cannot be solved in a day.

Continuing, he enumerated the achievements of the present administration to include Local Government autonomy which will now bring development closer to the people.
