Governor Radda Makes Surprise Visit to Katsina Community Watch Corps Training Ground

FIC Report (Katsina State) – The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD, CON, made an unscheduled visit to the training ground of the second batch of the Katsina Community Watch Corps (KCWC) at the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Training School yesterday in Katsina.

During his visit, he assured his administration’s dedication to tackling banditry and other criminal activities plaguing the state.

He announced the approval of combat training for 500 additional Community Watch Corps members from 10 local government areas affected by insecurity.

“We are leaving no stone unturned in our fight against criminality,” Governor Radda stated.

“This unannounced visit was to personally witness the training and express my gratitude for the trainees’ commitment to safeguarding their communities.” He added.

The Governor revealed that all necessary facilities and equipment for the corps’ operations are ready, including vehicles, motorcycles, weapons, and provisions for monthly allowances. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Community Watch Corps and other security agencies to achieve optimal results.

Commending the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their support, Governor Radda called for sustained partnership in combating banditry and other criminal activities in the state.

He reiterated that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance community-based security measures in Katsina State, thereby complementing the existing efforts by conventional security agencies.
