FIC Report (Kano State) – On October 23, 2024, Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba received courtesy visits from prominent stakeholders, including Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, and Eng. Abubakar Yusuf, MD/CEO of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO). The visits aimed to bolster collaboration between the Police Command and these organizations.
According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, ANIPR, MNISMA, Police Public Relations Officer, for the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, the meetings were crucial in strengthening ties between the Police and key stakeholders in the state.
The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, Prof. Pakistan, expressed gratitude to the Kano State Police Command for providing a secure environment for Hajj participants. He sought continued support from the Command to ensure the safety of pilgrims in Kano State.
In a separate meeting, Eng. Yusuf, MD/CEO of KEDCO, appreciated the Police Command’s efforts in enhancing security around KEDCO facilities. He requested additional measures to safeguard critical infrastructure, particularly in light of current national circumstances.
CP Dogo commended the collaborative efforts between the Kano State Police Command, the National Hajj Commission, and KEDCO. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and critical infrastructure in Kano State.
The Commissioner of Police also acknowledged the condolence visit by Alhaji Salihi Yusuf Ibrahim, Director Admin and General Services, Kano State Transport Authority (Kano Line), following the recent loss of police officers in an accident.
The visits concluded with mutual pledges of cooperation, demonstrating the shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region. This partnership is vital in addressing security concerns and promoting economic growth in Kano State.
