………Minister Calls for Nationwide Support for Fallen Heroes.

The Federal Ministry of Education joined the nation in observing Armed Forces Remembrance Day, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiative to honour Nigeria’s servicemen and fallen heroes. The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, the dignitaries at the event including Honourable Minister Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Minister of State Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Permanent Secretary Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo.and Directors The event paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s armed forces to safeguard the nation’s unity and sovereignty.

Dr. Alausa reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to honouring veterans and servicemen who have protected Nigeria’s unity. He emphasized the renewed significance of Armed Forces Remembrance Day under President Tinubu’s leadership, calling on all government bodies to support this cause. Dr. Alausa also described the remembrance emblem as a symbol of respect and commitment to supporting the families of fallen heroes, urging Nigerians to uphold this tradition as a lasting expression of national unity and solidarity.

The Minister further directed that all agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education should join in this celebration, urging all personnel to wear the emblem from now until the culmination of the official ceremony on January 15th. He concluded by acknowledging that this simple act of wearing the emblem serves as a tribute to the courage and dedication of Nigeria’s military personnel, both past and present.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary, highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to supporting Armed Forces Remembrance Day activities, beginning with today’s event and continuing until January 15th. He announced that the Honourable Minister would lead the emblem-wearing ceremony, a practice to be adopted across all agencies under the Ministry’s purview as a mark of respect.

The emblem, symbolizing honour, remembrance, and hope, acknowledges the contributions of veterans and raises financial support for the families of fallen heroes. As Ministry staff wore the emblem, it served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made to protect Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty.
