FIC Report (Katsina State) – Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON has performed groundbreaking for three major road dualization projects in Funtua, as part of the urban renewal initiative valued at approximately twenty billion naira.
The Governor, while performing the groundbreaking, noted that the project includes dualization of Funtua – Sokoto Road covering 5.9kilometer at N12.8 Billion and reconstruction of Funtua – Katsina Dual Carriageway spanning 3.9 kilometers at N5.8billion. He noted that the project is inclusive of the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Tsohuwar-Kasuwa-Funtua road, covering 1.2 Kilometer at N637 million.
Governor Radda emphasized that the initiative marks the beginning of a transformative journey designed to enhance infrastructure and economic vibrancy in the community.
Governor Radda assured residents that the project represents a foundational effort to improve urban connectivity and facilitate trade and business opportunities. The Governor assured that owners of houses and lands affected by the projects would be appropriately compensated in due course.
In his welcome address, the State Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. (Dr) Sani Magaji Ingawa, provided additional project details, noting that the roads would feature asphalting, concrete works and installation of solar-powered street lights.
Engr. Ingawa further assured stakeholders of the Ministry’s commitment to delivering quality work in collaboration with the construction firm, MotherCat Nigeria Limited and urged community support for successful project execution.
Also speaking, the Senator Representing Katsina South, Sen. Muntari Dandutse, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for additional developmental initiatives, citing provision of land for Federal University of Health Sciences in Funtua, approval of two-billion-naira take off project and provision of vehicles for the University Management.
In a similar vein, the Sarkin Maskan Katsina, District Head of Funtua, Alhaji Sambo Ibn Sambo, asserted that the Governor projects in Funtua are in fulfilment of his campaign promises. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for keeping to his promises.
Mr. Jack El-Najack, Managing Director of MotherCat Nigeria Limited, conveyed appreciation to the State Government for the opportunity to contribute to the State development. He pledged to deliver high-quality work within the specified timeframe.
