Niger State Government Secures $10m World Bank Intervention To Tackle Gully Erosion In Parts Of Mokwa

FIC Report (Niger State) – Niger State Government said it has secured $10m World Bank assisted fund to arrest gully erosion in some parts of Mokwa Local Government Area.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago disclosed this in Mokwa during his Statewide projects monitoring tour.

The Farmer Governor who was conducted round the affected areas such as Kpege, Efu Abebe, Eti Sheshi all in Mokwa local government area, observed that the situation has posed a serious threat to the affected communities.

He said competent contractors, with track records, have been identified to handle the project which will commence soon.

The farmer Governor called on the people of the affected communities to cooperate and support the contractors for their overall good.

He reassured them that his administration is poised to ameliorate the sufferings of the people,

Some residents of Mokwa appreciated the Farmer Governor for the intervention, saying, the project will relieve them from hardship and uncertainties of so many years.
