FIC Report (Abia State) – The Governor of Abia State, Governor Alex Chioma Otti has charged Nigerian youth not to be instruments used in enabling and facilitating the corrupt activities of unproductive Government.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu stated this while welcoming some members of National Youth Organisation (NYO) who came on courtesy call to his office.
In his word “desist from activities that cause mayhem and do not aid unproductive government”.
He thanked them for identifying with Abia State Government and urged the youths to join and build a progressive nation.
In his address during the courtesy call, Mr Okorie C. Okorie, the president, Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) pointed out that the Nigeria youth organisation was founded with the belief that the youth as a class have common destiny and obligation to the society, the nation and humanity at large.
He said “we are committed to excellence and patriotism and as well as poised at building a virile, more united and progressive Nigeria”.
Okorie while appreciating the Governor for welcoming them explained that the organisation having monitored the antecedent of Governor Otti since his inception ,agreed to visit him to declare their unalloyed support and Solidarity to his Excellency , and to officially commend his leadership ingenuity by conferring him with a distinguished National merit award of excellence as the most dedicated Nigeria Governor.
They also further officially decorated his Excellency as the National Executive Patrons of the Nigeria youth organisation and used the opportunity to request that Governor Otti establishes Abia State Youth Center Commission and also build Abia Center for youth Development.
He implored the Deputy Governor who was representing the Governor Otti to ensure that their message is passed to him.
Honourable Prince Chinonso, South East Vice President National Youth Organization while giving vote of thanks, said, “that if you build the youth, you are building the nation and if you empower the youth you are empowering the nation”. He appreciated his Excellency for giving them audience and for the hospitality emphasizing on the readiness of their Organization to support Governor Alex Otti Led Government.
