Kano NUJ Commends Delegates for Successful Participation in Owerri National Conference

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has lauded the efforts of its delegates and observers following their active participation in the 8th National Delegates Conference held in Owerri, Imo State.

In a statement issued by Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, Secretary of the Kano NUJ, the council’s Chairman, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, praised the exemplary conduct and professionalism demonstrated by the Kano contingent throughout the conference. This, he noted, contributed significantly to the successful election of Comrade Alhasan Yahaya as the National President of NUJ, along with his Deputy, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, and other executive members.

Comrade Dederi extended his gratitude to the Kano State Government, particularly Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, for their vital support. He also acknowledged contributions from Commissioner for Information Baba Halilu Dantiye, Director General of Media to the Governor Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and members of the Owerri 2024 Committee led by Comrade Usman Bello.

Highlighting the importance of the conference, Comrade Dederi congratulated the newly elected NUJ leadership, describing their victory as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the welfare of journalists nationwide.

“The successful election of Comrade Alhasan Yahaya as President of the NUJ symbolizes the collective resolve of journalists to uphold integrity and strive for excellence in our profession,” he remarked.

The Kano NUJ reiterated its commitment to supporting journalists, fostering collaboration, and maintaining professional standards within the industry as they move forward.
