FIC Report ( Benue State) – The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Steve H. Yabanet, FCID, psc (+), presented cheques worth a total of ₦72,259,935 to 30 beneficiaries of the Police Welfare Scheme on Thursday, 27th February 2025.
Speaking at the event, CP Yabanet stated that while no amount of money could replace the lives of their loved ones, the financial support was intended to cushion the immediate impact of their loss within the first year. He sympathized with the families and advised them to invest the funds wisely in sustainable ventures that would ensure their financial independence while awaiting other entitlements from the Force.
In their response, the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to the IGP for the prompt assistance. They prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him, commending his commitment to the welfare of police officers and their families.
