As part of efforts to improve universal health coverage and unlocking its value chains, the role of integrated diagnostics services is deemed pivotal to repositioning the country as a global hub for health product and technology manufacturing.

This will be the focal objective of a maiden National Summit on Diagnostics, that would be organized by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare through its Medical Laboratory Services Division.

Themed “Unlocking Healthcare Value Chains and Improving Universal health Coverage through Integrated Diagnostics Services”. It is scheduled to hold at the Abuja Continental Hotel from 11-13, March 2025.

Elaborating further on its aims and objectives, the Summit will announce government’s commitment to fostering innovation and inclusivity in the diagnostic landscape.

Highlighting Nigeria’s successes in diagnostic technology expansion and integration is also inclusive amongst others.

This effort, according to the Ministry, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda of transforming Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem and repositioning as a global hub for health product and technology manufacturing.

Besides being an interactive forum for networking opportunities and exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge diagnostic technologies; it will feature critical topical areas for discussions on local manufacturing of diagnostic products and technologies and, strengthening healthcare systems through partnerships, collaboration and, research.

The forthcoming maiden National Summit on Diagnostics will be declared open by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachollom mni; with participants drawn from government agencies, industry partners, International organizations/implementing partners and equipment manufacturers/distributors and, community leaders.
