Work to Complement the Strides of Administration of Governor SULE’S Mandates- Commissioner

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – Nasarawa State Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Ibrahim Tanko, has asked media outlets in the state and beyond to complement the strides of the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule to ensure effective delivery of its mandates.

Tanko, who assumed office recently, said the ministry is tasked with the mandate of projecting government activities, policies and priorities, appealing for collaborative approach from the media and other stakeholders.

He stated this when he received the management of Nasarawa Newsline Newspaper on a courtesy visit in his office in Lafia.

He said the collaboration of various stakeholders in the media and non-media terrains cannot be understated, reiterating Governor Abdullahi Sule’s commitment to promoting the state’s economic potentials for development.

He commended Nasarawa Newsline for its responsiveness and professional excellence in the field of journalism, noting that government’s image was sufficiently projected by the outlet with objectivity and discipline.

Leading the news outfit’s delegation, Publisher/CEO of Nasarawa Newsline Newspaper, Mukhtar Wakeel congratulated the information commissioner for his new assignment.

Wakeel, a journalism veteran and public relations consultant, announced that the outfit is ready to extend its support through development journalism that spurs societal advancement.

He enjoined the ministry to work closely with journalists and other professionals to achieve the purpose of effective communication for good governance.
