ABUJA (FERMA Report)- The newly appointed Managing Director/CEO for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Nurudeen Abdurahaman Rafindadi, has resumed office at the FERMA Headquarters in Abuja, and promised to work hard to reposition FERMA to achieve its mandate of monitoring and maintaining federal roads nationwide.

He stated this on Thursday October 12, 2017, while receiving a team of five man delegation from the Katsina State House of Assembly led by Honourable Abubakar Yahaya Kusada.

Engr. Rafindadi made the visitors to understand that he has been warmly received by the Management Team of the Agency, and has hit the ground running. Enumerating on the steps taken since assumption of duty, he said that he has been in touch with some stakeholders of the Agency some of which  are the National Assembly, the Chairmen, Senate and House Committees on FERMA, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Ministry.

The Ag. MD/CEO emphasized that the Agency is aware of the enormous responsibility before her as it is obvious that the level of expectation is high. And that, there is a double weight of responsibility to perform and deliver and to give support to the credibility of Mr. President as well as reward the confidence that has been reposed in him to lead an important government organization as FERMA.

He said that FERMA will soon experience a total turn around as he has identified two problems militating against the organization – high level expectation and insufficient financial resources, which he believes that mutual understanding with the relevant authorities could alleviate.

Engr. Rafindadi explained that though the core objective of FERMA is infrastructure based and as such, the Ag. MD/CEO has taken steps within the short time in office to quickly review the Agency’s plans, project status, finance, procurement plans and projections, taking inventory of all of the Agency’s assets nationwide and reviewing key areas for quick road interventions.

He thanked the delegation for their visit, promising to perform maximally.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Rt. Honourable Abubakar Yahaya Kusada, said that the purpose of their courtesy visit was to congratulate the helmsman on his appointment and assumption of duty. He expressed gratitude to Mr. President for the appointment and assured that the Ag. MD/CEO will not let the nation down.

Also speaking at the occasion, Engr. Taiwo Koya, Head of Operation (East), on behalf of the Management, said that going by the meetings of the Executives with the Ag. MD/CEO FERMA, the Agency is set to witness a new era. He assured of their readiness to work as a team to achieve the desired success.
