FIC Report (Delta State) – The leadership of the Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (COHEADS) Delta State Chapter led by its Chairman and State Coordinator Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), Mr. John Ifonedo Onovroke, today paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander Delta State, CC. Fredrick Ogidan in his Office Asaba the State capital.
The COHEADS Chairman who was accompanied by the Secretary COHEADS and Head of Federal Information Delta State Mr. Felix Ijomah and other Executive Members of COHEADS, said their visit was to formally welcome the Sector Commander following his recent posting to Delta State.
Mr. Onovroke noted that CO-HEADS is a Forum of Interaction for Heads and Officers of Federal Government Establishments operating in the State including the Police and other Paramilitary Services. He added that FRSC had been a very active and supportive member of COHEADS especially in the monthly keep fit sports exercise where the FRSC representative Mr. Abidemi Kabir had been the sports instructor.
The Chairman, therefore, requested the Sector Commander to support in resuscitating the second Saturday monthly awareness sports exercise.
The COHEADS Chairman also informed the Sector Commander that CO-HEADS meeting holds every last Tuesday of the month and MDAs hosting the meeting use the platform to educate members on the mandates and functions of their MDAs.
He further added that CO-HEADS also offers a platform for members to collectively interface with State Government adding that CO-HEADS had visited top State Government functionaries including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Police Commissioner, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant, other Paramilitary Services as well as His Royal Majesty the Asagba of Asaba, Asagba Professor Epiphany Azinge.
Responding, the Delta State Sector Commander CC. Frederick Ogidan while welcoming the COHEADS leadership in company of his Management team affirmed the commitment of the FRSC Delta State Command under his dynamic leadership to identify and actively participate in the activities and programmes of COHEADS.
CC. Frederick Ogidan who is the 22nd Sector Commander FRSC Delta State first expressed appreciation to COHEADS and recalled that even as a young officer then he had the opportunity of representing his boss while serving in the North and participated actively in the activities of COHEADS.
He assured COHEADS Chairman and members that FRSC has high regards for COHEADS as he pledged his maximum support to COHEADS and promised to create time and attend COHEADS meeting personally.
On the request for resuscitating the monthly keep fit sports exercise the host noted the importance of keep fit exercise as he promised to see how it can be jointly carried out with that of FRSC monthly sports exercise.
The Sector Commander also promised to look at where his predecessor stopped regarding payment of dues and also participate in subsequent activities and programmes of COHEADS.
He further assured COHEADS of his willingness to assist in reaching out to some State Government officials even as he called on COHEADS to assist FRSC in cautioning their staff and the general public on the need to always be careful and obey traffic rules while on the road.
The COHEADS Chairman later signed the FRSC visitors’ register on behalf of the Executive Members followed with group photographs with the host and his Management team before departure.
