FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Federal Government has commissioned a state-of-the-art oncology centre at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina (FTHK), marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s fight against cancer.
The ceremony was jointly led by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammad Idris Malagi. They were joined by the leadership of the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina and representatives of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and Medserve.
The new oncology centre is equipped with cutting-edge TrueBeam technology, which enables precise, fast, and efficient cancer treatment. This development reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to transforming healthcare delivery and expanding access to critical medical services across the country.
The centre is part of a broader strategic investment in specialized healthcare infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the aim of reducing medical tourism and bringing world-class cancer care closer to home for Nigerians.
