FIC Lagos Sensitises Alimosho Residents On Tinubu's Mid-Term Achievements

FIC Report (Lagos State) – On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the Federal Information Centre (FIC), Lagos, held a sensitisation campaign at the Alimosho Local Government office to enlighten residents on the achievements of the Tinubu administration at its mid-term. The programme, themed “Tinubu Administration’s Mid-Term Report”, was delivered under the leadership of the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, fnipr.

The event, chaired by Alimosho Council Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, who was accompanied by his Vice, Hon. Adebisi Francis, drew an impressive crowd of community leaders, youth groups, and religious representatives. The Special Guest of Honour, Dr. Turkur Adedimeji Mustapha, represented the National Orientation Agency, while heads of the Health, Agriculture, and Education departments also participated actively.

Discussions centred on three major areas of the administration’s policies—NELFUND (Nigerian Education Loan Fund), Health, and Agriculture. Speakers explained that NELFUND is designed to ease the financial burden on students and parents, while efforts in the health sector aim to strengthen primary healthcare delivery across communities. The agriculture programme, they noted, is targeted at boosting food security and supporting local farmers.

The session was interactive, with residents voicing pressing concerns. Alhaji Salaudeen asked whether the education loan applies to private universities, while Pastor Rogho Akpo sought clarification on health insurance for non-government workers. Another participant, Mr. Gbola Lanre Taiye, questioned why his child’s previous loan application was denied. Each concern was addressed with assurances that government programmes are being structured to be inclusive and accessible.

Recognition was also given to grassroots figures including CDC Chairman, Venerable Adewuyi S.A.; CAN Chairman, Rev. Samuel Adeyemi; League of Imams Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Okuola; and Mr. Idowu Ibrahim, head of Artisans in Alimosho, whose presence reflected the wide interest the campaign attracted.

The sensitisation, widely covered by the NTA, FRCN, Alimosho Press, and other media houses, ended on a hopeful note. Participants agreed that the initiative had not only clarified government programmes but also strengthened trust between the people and the Federal Government. The conversation, they said, has given residents of Lagos a clearer view of how the Tinubu administration’s policies are shaping lives at the grassroots.
