FIC Report (Imo State) – The Sensitization campaign took place in Owerri on the 19th of August, 2025 with a Town Hall Meeting by 11.30 at the Conference Hall of the Federal Secretariat, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri.
Guests from different organisation started arriving, in the person’s of Mrs. Ken Ogbonna, from National Orientation Agency, representative from Civil Defence Corps, DSC Okeh Ihechi, SC Akalawu Amarachi, Mr. Emmanuel Onwumere, Mr. Peter Okoli from News Agency of Nigeria, representative from Nigeria Television Authority, engr. Idris Okandeyi from ministry of mines and Dr. Onuegbu from ministry of labour and productivity etc.
The programme commend by 11.30 with an opening prayer said by Mr. Emmanuel Onwumere. Rotarian Everest Ezihe who happens to be the Chairman of the event, and the resource person who was the former Chairman of NUJ, in his opening remarks however, thanked the organisers of the programme at this time people are loosing faith in government but assured them that at the end of the event they will be happier but he also requested them to pay attention and listen attentively to the resource person.
Mr Francis Nwaozuzu, the head of information centre Owerri, welcomed everybody to the occasion on behalf of the honourable minister of information and national orientation and also thanked them for honouring his invitation.
Mr. Nwaozuzu explained to them that the essence of the Town Hall meeting is to sensitize the people on the Mid-Term achievements of the present administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinunu’s administration in the area of agriculture, education, economic reforms, infrastructural development, national security, youth empowerment and many others.
The head of centre however, implored them to pay attention, participate fully and ask question when need be.
He once again welcomed them to the event.
