In a statement today by the SA to the DG, Nkem Anyatta-Lafia, the Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps and former Federal lawmaker representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has described the passing of Sen. Muhammad Mana, who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District in the early years of the 4th Republic, as a monumental loss that cannot be filled in Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.

The NTAC DG said the late Military Officer was one of the pioneers who laid the foundation for productive leadership in Adamawa State, which the later crops of politicians have come to emulate. “Sen. Mana’s footprints will continue to inspire millions of our indigenes in Adamawa State, who are bent on following the hallmarks of selfless service and servant-leadership, which the people of his era nurtured and exemplified.

“Sen. Mana loved Adamawa State and Nigeria dearly. This was a commitment that he carried with passion so much that he served the people until his very end yesterday (Friday) in Abuja. I recall with nostalgia how, as Chairman of the Committee seeking the restoration of peace and cessation of internal hostilities among stalwarts of APC in Adamawa State of which we were all members, he opened his gates perpetually for us to hold endless meetings that wore on into odd hours. His commitment to achieving lasting peace in the Adamawa APC was not short of passion and consuming zeal for results. Our Party and the people will miss his strong voice and wisdom dearly,” Buba emphasized.

While mourning a man who the NTAC DG revealed was a true Adamawa son in words and deeds, Buba recalled the years of Sen. Mana’s service to the people of the old Plateau State as Military Administrator and his time as Commandant of Brigade of Guards in Abuja and how the late leader availed himself of his privileged positions to offer listening ears to those who approached him for succour.

Buba consoled the immediate family Sen. Mana left behind and prayed Allah (SWA) to give them the requisite fortitude to bear the loss of one whose giant frame towered above many parts of the country and fields of endeavour.

“For myself and my dear family, and on behalf of the Management and staff of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, which by the grace of God and the benevolence of His Excellency, Mr. President I currently head, I wish to convey our deepest condolences to Sen. Mana’s immediate family, to the Government and people of Adamawa State and to our nation, which he loved and served dearly to his very end. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him aljanat firdaus. Ameen.”
