FIC Report (Abia State) – The Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road, Aba, alongside six other completed roads on October 3.

Governor Otti made this known while speaking at the Aba Stakeholders Security Trust Fundraising Luncheon held at the Aba Sports Club.

In this regard, members of the Aba business community have raised millions of naira to support Governor Alex Otti’s Security Trust Fund, underscoring a renewed partnership between government and the private sector to strengthen security in Abia State.

Governor Otti emphasized that security remains the bedrock of development and vowed that “every kobo of this money will be judiciously used and accounted for as no dime will be missing under my watch.” He assured the business community that his administration will not compromise on safety, adding that accountability is a personal creed.

The governor also revealed that all agreements have been signed with Radisson Blu to commence redevelopment of the Enyimba Hotel Aba, signaling a new phase of economic growth for the city.

While urging Abians to participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections, Otti called on residents to ensure every eligible household member is registered to vote.

Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Leo Ike Okoye, commended the Governor’s achievements in road infrastructure, security, street lighting, and water schemes. Other key stakeholders,including Ide John Udeagbala, Mazi Jude Nwosu, and a representative of Owelle Greg Okafor—lauded the Governor’s proactive efforts to restore Aba’s lost glory and pledged generous donations to the Security Trust Fund.

The event was attended by Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Hon. Obi Aguocha, members of the Abia State House of Assembly, key commissioners, and local government mayors, further demonstrating broad support for the Governor’s initiatives.
