Edo State Secures $250 Million Investment Deal with Euro-Africa CCI at Glasgow Summit

FIC Report (Edo State) – The Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, has secured a landmark agreement with the European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EuroAfrica CCI). The coalition, representing chambers of Commerce spanning 98 countries across Europe and Africa, committed to invest $250 million into Edo State over the next three to five years.

The Agreement was signed during the 2025 Edo State Global Investment Summit, in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

The partnership aims to boost key sectors including agriculture and Agro-processing, Mining and Solid Minerals, Technical Education and Skills development, renewable Energy, and green Infrastructure. Governor Monday Okpebholo, speaking through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, emphasized the Government’s dedication to creating an investor-friendly environment through streamlined registration procedures, transparent land management, and applicable tax incentives. He assured that the administration would prioritize transparency, accountability, and strong institutional support to ensure these investments generate jobs, opportunities, and sustainable growth for Edo residents.

Representing EuroAfrica CCI, Director General Amb. Dr. Kingsley Obasohan committed to aligning the investments with Nigeria’s Local Content Policies, with a focus on empowering Edo Citizens through capacity building, employment creation, and the development of industrial value chains.

The Agreement, set to span an initial five-year period, includes provisions for regular review sessions to monitor progress and uphold mutual accountability. This strategic alliance underscores Edo State’s ambition to become a leading Investment destination in Nigeria, emphasizing inclusive economic growth and human capital development as core priorities of Governor Okpebholo’s administration.
