FIC Report (Benue State) – The Nigeria Police Force has recorded another milestone in its manpower development efforts as the Police Training School (PTS), Wannune, Benue State, on Tuesday, 7th October 2025, held a Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 2022/2023 Batch ‘B’ Recruit Constables.
The event, which took place simultaneously across all Police Colleges and Training Schools nationwide, marked the successful completion of six months of intensive academic, physical, and professional training for thousands of recruits who have now been formally absorbed into the Nigeria Police Force.
At the Wannune Training School, the ceremony attracted dignitaries, senior police officers, invited guests, and families of the graduating officers who gathered to witness the colourful parade.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the Reviewing Officer, AIG Zacharia Fera Achinya, fdc, congratulated the new constables and charged them to discharge their duties with integrity, professionalism, and a deep sense of patriotism. He reminded them that policing requires not just courage but also compassion and respect for human rights, urging them to uphold fairness, justice, and commitment to the rule of law in all their assignments.
AIG Fera expressed appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support to the Nigeria Police Force. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), and the DIG in charge of Training and Development, DIG Frank Mba, for their efforts in strengthening police capacity and professionalism nationwide.



The Commandant of the Police Training School, ACP Dominic A. Iornumbe, Ph.D., psc, commended the recruits for their perseverance, discipline, and dedication to duty throughout the training period. He described their successful completion of the program as a reflection of their resilience and readiness to serve, urging them to remain loyal, professional, and patriotic as they assume duty across various formations.
Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits:
- Best Recruit in Academics – PC John Mercy Owoichoje
- Best Recruit in Drills – PC Yusuf Jaduwa
The event concluded with cheers from family members and guests as the new constables proudly marched off, ready to contribute to national security and peacebuilding.
