Benue And Enugu Police Commands

FIC Report (Benue State) – The Commissioners of Police for Benue and Enugu States, CP Emenari Ifeanyi Innocent, PhD, psc, mnips, and CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, on Tuesday, October 29, 2025, held a strategic operational meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration and addressing emerging security challenges affecting both States.

The meeting, which took place in Benue State, provided a platform for both Commands to review current security trends and assess joint strategies for tackling cross-border criminal activities.

During deliberations, the Commissioners identified the infiltration of criminal elements and their connivance with unscrupulous individuals within border communities as major enablers of interstate crimes. Consequently, they resolved to deepen cooperation through enhanced intelligence sharing, coordinated operations, and joint deployment of resources to effectively combat violent crimes across border areas.

The renewed collaboration will focus on Ado, Ogbadibo, and Okpokwu Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Benue State, as well as Igbo-Eze North, Isi-Uzo, and Udenu LGAs of Enugu State. The meeting, which had in attendance senior operational officers from both Commands, is expected to be held routinely to sustain the momentum of the joint efforts.

It is noteworthy that the two Commands have, in recent months, successfully collaborated in the arrest of criminal suspects operating across both States, rescuing kidnapped victims and recovering stolen vehicles, laptops, mobile phones, and other robbed items.

The Commissioners reaffirmed their commitment to continuous collaboration and proactive policing to ensure the safety and security of lives and property within their respective jurisdictions.
