FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani this meeting with UNICEF Nigeria marks a defining moment in his shared commitment to safeguard the health and future of Kaduna’s children. The high-powered delegation was led by the UNICEF Nigeria Country Representative, Wafaa Saeed Abdelatef.
He emphasis that the launch of the Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) distribution across our state is a vital step toward ending severe acute malnutrition and ensuring that no child is left behind in the fight for survival and growth.
He mentioned that his enduring partnership with UNICEF continues to yield transformative results in health, nutrition, education as well as Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Together, we are translating policy into tangible impact; extending quality healthcare, clean water, and adequate nutrition to families across both urban and rural communities. Programmes such as the RUTF initiative and the Accelerating Sanitation and Water for All (ASWA III) project, for which Kaduna proudly stands as the first and only state so far to key into it in Nigeria; this reflects our broader vision of building resilient, inclusive systems that protect the vulnerable and nurture human capital.
Uba explained that their take great pride in UNICEF’s commendation of Kaduna as the first state to adopt and implement the RUTF initiative, and for our consistency in meeting counterpart funding obligations. This recognition reinforces our administration’s values of transparency, efficiency, and purposeful leadership.
Governor Sani said On behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State, He wish to reiterate my heartfelt gratitude to UNICEF for its steadfast partnership. Together, we will continue to build a Kaduna where every child grows healthy, nourished, and full of promise; a Kaduna defined by equity, dignity, and shared progress.
