FIC Report (Jigawa State) – The jigawa state government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with National agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons ( NAPTIP) to combat human trafficking and irregular migration through the state.
This was revealed in a statement issued by the ministry for local government Mal Najib Umar.
According to the statement, the commissioner for local government and community development, Alh Ibrahim Garba Hannun – Giwa made this known whole declaring open a one day sensitization campaign in kazaure town.
Represented by the Director of social development, Alh Muhammad Mukaddas, the commissioner explained that the campaign jointly organised by the ministry and Naptip aimed to educate participants from all 27 LGA on the dangers of human trafficking and illegal migration especially among youth.
He reaffirm Governor Namadi’s commitment to promoting human capital development urging citizens to pursue legitimate opportunities within their communities rather than engaging in trafficking activities.
Under the comprehensive development framework of the state, the commissioner address, ongoing efforts aim to create an enabling environment for self reliance and job creation which would in turn boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
Participants at the event included heads of community departments, Husband officials, social welfare officers, district heads, chief Imams and members of the vigilant groups from.the jigawa North West Senatorial Zone
