FIC Report (Abia State) – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has deployed 850 officers and men across the state to ensure a safe, peaceful and hitch-free 2025 Yuletide celebration.

Addressing the deployment, the State Commandant, Commandant Akinsola, stated that the exercise is designed to protect lives, public and private property, as well as Critical National Assets and Infrastructure throughout the festive period.

He noted that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee the safety of residents and visitors, especially in areas with high human traffic such as markets, places of worship, motor parks and recreational centres.

According to the Commandant, the personnel have been strategically deployed to conduct round-the-clock patrols, surveillance and intelligence-led operations, working in synergy with other security agencies to prevent criminal activities and ensure swift response to any security challenges.

Commandant Akinsola further issued a stern warning to criminals and vandals to steer clear of Abia State, emphasizing that the Command will not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone found attempting to disrupt public peace or vandalize critical infrastructure.

While extending his Christmas and New Year goodwill messages to residents, the State Commandant appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to enhance security during the festive season.
