FIC Report (Zamfara State) – The Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) Zamfara State has organized a One Day sensitization to Farmers in the state on Agricultural Insurance.
In his address the Manager Zamfara State NAIC office Mr. Auwal Haruna stated that the sensitization aimed at transforming Farmers from traditional method to insured resilient operation offering a safety net against Agricultural risk.
Mr. Haruna pointed out that the mandate of NAIC is to sensitize Farmers on risk protection against food, diseases and timely claim to ensure business continuity and food security.
He therefore commended the effort of Yazeed Project Development for their collaboration saying that the sensitization enhances the capacity of Farmers and creating awareness on how to improve food production in the state.
Earlier, the State Coordinator Yazeed Project Development, Abubakar Umar stated that the partnership was aimed at enhancing food security and access to credit and other loan services for Agricultural development and there fore urged participants to properly apply the skills they acquired.
The sensitization was attended by different associations included Providence Crops and Livestock Farmers Associations (PCLFA), Poultry Farmers/Marketers Associations, Farming Sustainable Initiative (FASI) and National Cottage Associations of Nigeria (NACOTAN) among others.
