FIC Report (Zamfara State) – The Hon Minister of Works Mr David Umahi inspects the on-going road construction of Zaria-Funtua-Gusau to Sokoto respectively. The dual carriege high way according to the Minister is at different stages of completion and would boost the economic activities of North Western region.
The Minister who was represented by the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North West) Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai stated that the Federal Government is currently constructing 23 different road projects across the north west saying that the administration of President Bola Tinubu priorities road projects that had been abandoned for several years.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on the project adding that the President remains committed to the development of all the regions in the country in terms of infrastructural development.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for approving and funding the projects particularly those targeted at reviving roads linking Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto states.
The Representatives of the contractors handling the projects including Setraco handling Funtua-Gusau road and Tri-Acta handling Gusau-Talata Mafara road pledged to complete the projects on scheduled time pointing out that the insecurity situations hinders the project speedy action.
Responding while conducting the inspection team round the Zamfara State Controller of Federal Ministry of Works, Engr Kassim Yusuf stated their commitment in monitoring the projects and the contractors to ensure compliance.
