FIC Report (Edo State) – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to transforming Edo into a State defined by good Governance, Infrastructural growth, and Economic prosperity. Speaking to Journalists after an unannounced inspection tour across Edo South Senatorial District, the Governor highlighted the strides made in Infrastructure development that are set to catalyze the State’s overall growth.
During the tour, which included visits to major roads and drainage projects, Governor Okpebholo expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved, notably on Sapele Road and its adjoining corridors. He lauded the Contractors for their adherence to approved standards and timelines, emphasizing that continuous monitoring is crucial to maintaining quality and efficiency.
“The progress on Sapele Road and surrounding Areas is commendable. It’s clear that our Administration is making tangible impacts in key parts of Edo. We are building a new Edo where growth and development are at the forefront,” he stated. The Governor noted that the ongoing projects are a testament to the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he affirmed is already taking root in Edo State as residents begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Accompanied by the Special Adviser on Projects Implementation and Monitoring, Engr. Phoebe Williams-Bello, the Governor inspected various Projects including those at Evbhukhu, Amagba, Ohoghobi, Oghehe, Old Sapele Road, Sapele Road Bypass, Uhie Road, Okhabere, and the prominent flyover at Adesuwa Junction. He also visited Charismatic Renewal Road, Ugbiyoko, and Oghede Upper Ekenhuan Road, among others, observing notable improvements, particularly at Charismatic Renewal Road, where progress has visibly advanced since his last visit.
Governor Okpebholo reiterated that his Administration’s efforts are aimed at bringing governance closer to the People by opening up Communities, enhancing connectivity, and stimulating Economic activities. “We are changing things in Edo State. Our infrastructural projects are creating jobs, improving mobility, and lifting communities out of neglect,” he explained.
He further emphasized that Edo State is fast becoming a construction hub, with ongoing road and drainage projects across all three senatorial districts, driven by the administration’s resolve to deliver practical development to the residents. “Our goal is to make Edo a better place—an Edo of our dreams—where good governance and development are accessible to all,” the governor declared.
With a focus on sustainable growth, Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his dedication to transforming Edo into a thriving state where infrastructure and economic opportunities are available at the doorstep of every Edo citizen.
