FIC Report (Lagos State) – Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has met with the Chairman of the US Nigeria Council for Food Security, Trade, and Investment, Ambassador Terence P. McCulley, to discuss potential partnerships on food security and trade.

Speaking during the courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of practical cooperation, saying, “We had a clear conversation about what practical cooperation on food security and trade can look like for Lagos. These are real issues with real impact, and I value engagements that focus on outcomes.”

Ambassador McCulley, who led the US delegation, expressed interest in exploring areas of collaboration with Lagos State, highlighting the state’s strategic importance in Nigeria’s food security and trade landscape.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated Lagos’ openness to partnerships that deliver value to its people, stating, “Lagos remains open to partnerships that make sense and deliver value to our people.”

The meeting underscores Lagos State’s commitment to leveraging partnerships to drive development and improve the lives of its citizens. Food security and trade are key areas of focus for the Sanwo-Olu administration, and this engagement is expected to yield tangible benefits for the state.
