UNDP Country Representative Visit Gov. Uba Sani

FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani received, a strong sense of purpose, a courtesy visit from a delegation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led by the Resident Representative, Ms. Elsie Attahfua.

Uba said discussions were thoughtful and forward-looking, centred on deepening cooperation for sustainable development in Kaduna State through the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme; an initiative of the Federal Government under the Office of the Vice President, supported by UNDP and the European Union.

He mentioned that the engagement reflected a shared conviction that durable progress is achieved not through isolated interventions, but through partnerships anchored in long-term vision and institutional strength.

Sani said the delegation, alongside officials of the Office of the Vice President, acknowledged Kaduna State’s consistent investment in skills-based education, youth empowerment, agriculture, and social protection. Particular recognition was given to the establishment of the Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, which stands as a practical expression of our belief that development must be rooted in employable skills, productivity, and dignity of work.

He also said their commendation affirmed that Kaduna State is positioning itself as a credible partner in sustainable development practice.

He expressed appreciation to UNDP for its enduring support across critical sectors, support that aligns closely with our ambition to build an integrated, adaptive, and forward-looking Kaduna State.

Governor pointed out that the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme, in particular, has emerged as a vital bridge between learning and livelihood, equipping young graduates with practical experience, professional discipline, and pathways into meaningful work within an increasingly complex global economy.

Uba mentioned that At the heart of his governance philosophy is a simple but firm principle: investment in people is the most consequential investment any society can make. Education, when disconnected from opportunity, remains incomplete.

He also explained that in a place of human capital development at the centre of our development strategy, expanding pathways for young people to translate knowledge into enterprise, service, and innovation.

He further more said Kaduna State remains open, deliberate, and committed to partnerships that reflect his development priorities and elevate the quality of life of our citizens.
