Dr. Bernard Doro, Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, has reassured beneficiaries of the national social investment programmes that verified payment issues are being resolved and committed to structural reforms to improve sustainability.
“I am aware of the concerns surrounding the programme and I hear you,” Dr. Doro said after meeting with beneficiaries’ leaders. “Since assuming office I have worked with the National Social Investment Programmes Agency to review the schemes, identify gaps and fix structural challenges affecting delivery. All legitimate concerns are being resolved. Beneficiaries with verified challenges will be addressed and will receive their payments.”
“We are resolving verified payment issues and reforming programmes for sustainability,” he said.
Dr. Doro said the ministry is committed to reforming the programmes with clear exit strategies in line with the President’s vision and the Renewed Hope Agenda, and pledged continued engagement with beneficiaries to ensure timely delivery.
For further information, beneficiaries are advised to contact the ministry or the National Social Investment Programmes Agency.
