The SERVICOM Presidency Office has called on Ministries Department and Agencies (MDAs), to strategically position their Ministerial SERVICOM Units to implement their Service Charters for efficient service delivery service wide.

This call was made, by the Acting National Coordinator SERVICOM Presidency, Mrs. Helen Lawal, during the official launch of the Service Charter for the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), today Friday, 6th February, 2026.

Speaking during the Charter launch, Mrs. Lawal said that, the official launch/presentation of NADDC Service Charter today marks a significant step towards service improvement in the automotive sector.

She added that, it is the implementation of the Service Charter that will determine how well the NADDC is positioned to really improve on the services provided to her stakeholders such as Nigeria Automotive Manufacturers Association, Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) and other relevant stakeholders.

The launch of the Service Charter, she said, has set the pace for the NADDC mandate to be broken down into measurable services standards for enhanced transparency and accountability.
She stated that, for an effective Implementation of the Service Charter NADDC Management should ensure that the Charter gets wide publicity of the Charter amongst staff and different customer groups (flex banners, flyers, pamphlet forms, website etc.).

Lawal also encouraged, the Management of the Agency, to embark on training and sensitization of members of the SERVICOM Unit, frontlines staff at all levels on the concept and on their roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the Charter.

She further called on the Director General, to delegate powers properly to members of staff to enable them discharge their responsibilities with the expected degree of efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness.

As well as track, measure, collate data on performance of key services and report to the Director- General (DG).

She described the Service Charter as an MDA’s operational and performance enhancement tool that enshrines the trust between service providers and service takers. Such as new licenses for the approval of assembly plants are issued within three months as contained in the Charter.

The Acting National Coordinator further, highlighted that the Service Charter contains realistic and measurable standards in specific key services/standards of the Council e.g., automotive diagnostics and services are completed within 24 hours.

Mrs. Lawal proffered to NADDC Management, that Committee members should ensure periodic monitoring and implementation of the Service Charter during their quarterly meetings.

She emphasized that, Management should give more support to the SERVICOM Unit by ensuring that service delivery gaps are rectified, recommendations are implemented, reported upon, published and reviewed for continuous improvement of services across board.

Earlier on the Director General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, in his welcome address, said that the launch of the Service Charter marks a significant milestone in the annals of the Council as they are poised to deliver accountable and excellent services to its Stakeholders’ service wide.

He stated that the service Charter of the Council, outlines clearly, the functions, procedures, timelines and operations as a commitment to the citizens of Nigeria.

This Charter he added, sets out a path for citizens to hold us more accountable, and sustain a culture of excellence and development.

Osanipin, admitted that the Council needs to come up with current and regular standards to be at par with world global trends.
