Governor Uzodimma Applauds Police Officers, Reassures Commitment To Security

FIC Report (Imo State) – The executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has congratulated the newly promoted officers of the Imo State police Command on their new ranks, noting that their promotion is a call to more professionalism and exemplary services.

The governor who was represented by his Chief Staff, Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie stated this during the decoration ceremony for promoted Officers of Nigerian Police Force held in Owerri, Imo state.

In his address, Senator Uzodimma, charged the officers to maintain discipline and professionalism while discharging their duties, pointing out that the promotion is a wake-up call to greater work and higher leadership qualities as well.
He admonished them to be role models to the younger officers expected to come into their positions of responsibility.

According to him “You must under all circumstances be shining examples to younger officers and Justify the faith reposed in you.”

While reflecting on the security challenges faced in the state between 2020 and 2023, the governor commended the sacrifice and effort of the security officers in restoring peace and stability to the state, and also mourned those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

He went further to explain that the peace and calm in the state presently is as a result of visionary leadership and consistent commitment to guaranteeing security, stating that the inauguration of over 7000 members of the Imo State vigilante committee is also geared towards strengthening security network.

Earlier, the Imo State Commissioner of police, Mr. Audu Garba Bosso, congratulated the newly promoted officers, saying that their elevation is a reward for hard work and commitment to duty.
He reiterated that higher rank is accompanied with greater accountability, and admonished them to be professional in conduct as any breach will not be tolerated.

The police commissioner reassured citizens of the state of their resolve to safe guard lives and property, promising continued support and synergy with the state government to sustain peace and security in the state and nation in general.

The Chief Principal Security Officer (CPSO), Shaba Adamu, while responding on behalf of others confirmed their commitment to providing maximum security and that the leadership will be of good conduct and professional.
