FIC Report (Lagos State) – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified efforts to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in Lagos State, urging stakeholders to join forces in safeguarding the nation’s economic resources.

Addressing stakeholders at a community engagement event in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, Deputy Commandant of Corps Kolawole Agbetiloye, representing NSCDC Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, emphasized the importance of collaboration. “Community engagements like this aim to bring campaigns against vandalism, illegal dredging, and sabotage closer to the people,” he said.

Stakeholders, including traditional leaders, youths, market leaders, and security agencies, were tasked to report suspected vandalism cases to NSCDC offices. Agbetiloye urged them to protect assets and infrastructure vital to the state’s safety, stability, and economic well-being.

Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Chairman, Honorable Almorouf Kehinde Oloyede, commended the initiative, affirming commitment to asset protection. Traditional Rulers and Security Specialist, Mr. Darlington Ekhnomy, also condemned vandalism, urging stakeholders to take protection seriously.

The event resolved to protect CNAI, including manholes, fiber optics, and power installations, from vandals. Stakeholders pledged support for NSCDC’s mandate, with the National Youth Council assuring youth cooperation. The Scrap Dealer Association vowed to report non-compliant members, promoting business integrity.

The event featured interactive sessions, goodwill messages, and souvenir presentations, highlighting NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s critical assets.
