FIC Report (Lagos State) – Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed confidence in the city’s ability to host major international events, saying, “Lagos is well placed to showcase what Africa can achieve.” The Governor witnessed the signing of the hosting agreement for the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2027 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.
The event is expected to attract significant investment and promote intra-African trade, with Lagos serving as a hub for entertainment and commerce. “These are real opportunities to attract investment and make it easier for African businesses to work together,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.
Lagos will also host Creative Africa Nexus 2026, and the Governor is optimistic about the city’s potential to drive African growth. “We look forward to welcoming the continent to our city,” he added.
The hosting of IATF 2027 is seen as a major boost to Lagos’ economy and a testament to the city’s status as a leading center of commerce in Africa.
