The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (FMIST) has intensified efforts to drive Nigeria’s innovation-led economic transformation by advancing its national “Research to Revenue” initiative in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR

The Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh,SAN disclosed this after a strategic engagement with the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he briefed her on the Ministry’s flagship programme, “Energize Commercialization Now.”

The Minister noted that the programme is designed to accelerate the commercialization of Nigeria’s scientific research and indigenous technological innovations by connecting universities, research institutes, innovators, industry players, and investors to transform discoveries into scalable, market-driven products and enterprises.

Dr. Udeh explained that the initiative supports the administration’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy, emphasizing that Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) remain critical drivers of sustainable national productivity and inclusive economic growth.

According to him, the programme will particularly focus on empowering youths, women, innovators, and researchers through strengthened technology transfer systems, incubation support, intellectual property development, and venture creation.

He further highlighted the importance of the First Lady’s support, noting that her strong advocacy for women and youth development provides a strategic platform to deepen grassroots participation and ensure that the benefits of innovation-driven growth reach ordinary Nigerians.

Dr. Kingsley described the collaboration as a vital step toward translating Nigeria’s research outcomes into wealth-creating enterprises, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to inclusive prosperity and national development.
