FIC Report (Imo State) – The Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, has assured residents of Imo State of adequate security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.

The assurance comes as the Command intensified its ongoing efforts to combat crime, culminating in the arrest and parade of 75 suspects linked to various criminal offences.

Speaking at the Command Headquarters in Owerri, the Commissioner disclosed that comprehensive security measures have been put in place, including the strategic deployment of personnel to mosques, prayer grounds, recreational centres and other public spaces.

He noted that visibility patrols have been strengthened across major roads and critical locations to guarantee the safety of residents and visitors, as well as ensure free flow of traffic during the festive period.

The Police Commissioner further highlighted the Command’s sustained intelligence-driven operations, which have led to notable successes in reducing crime and enhancing public safety across the state.

According to him, a total of 75 suspects were apprehended within the period under review for offences including kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, murder, terrorism-related activities and stealing.

He added that significant recoveries were made during the operations, including firearms, ammunition and stolen property.

While congratulating Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, the Commissioner urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant and security-conscious, especially during the festive period.

He also encouraged members of the public to support the Police with timely and credible information, assuring that such information would be treated with confidentiality and acted upon promptly.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining proactive security measures aimed at maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and ensuring a safe environment for all residents of the state.
