FIC Report (Taraba State) – The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, reiterated his administration’s dedication to sustained security collaboration and proactive governance.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Kefas explained that the engagement was both symbolic and strategic. He noted that beyond expressing gratitude to God for the journey so far, he was particularly pleased to reconnect with four of his course mates who are currently serving at the highest levels within the Air Force leadership.
The Governor commended the Nigerian Air Force for its unflinching professionalism, intelligence gathering, and operational support, emphasizing that their contributions have played a critical role in stabilizing Taraba State. He stated that the relative peace and security currently enjoyed in the state would not have been possible without the Air Force’s consistent surveillance and rapid intervention capabilities.
“Taraba remains one of the safest states in Northern Nigeria today, and we cannot sing our success story without acknowledging the immense support of the Nigerian Air Force,” the Governor said.
Governor Kefas further outlined that the purpose of the visit was to deepen existing partnerships, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing and rapid response mechanisms. He stressed that in the face of evolving security challenges, air surveillance and swift operational response remain indispensable tools in combating modern threats.
In his response, Chief of the Air Staff, Nigerian Airforce, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke commended Governor Kefas Agbu for his proactive leadership and commitment to security. He described him as a forward-thinking leader whose military background has significantly influenced his strategic approach to governance and safety.
The Air Force leadership further acknowledged Taraba State as one of the most secure states in the country, attributing this achievement to the Governor’s deliberate investments in security architecture and strong inter-agency collaboration.
The visit concluded on a note of renewed commitment to sustained partnership, with both parties reaffirming their shared goal of maintaining peace, stability, and safety for the people of Taraba State.
