…….. Gombe Governor Engages Lawmaker in Talks on Governance, Politics, Constituency Matters; as Stakeholder Consultations on Legislator’s Political Future Deepen.

FIC Report (Gombe State) – The Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and member representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Hon. Ali JC, has paid a courtesy visit to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, at the Government House, Gombe, where he commended the Governor’s inclusive leadership style and steadfast support for developmental projects in his constituency.

Speaking after the meeting, the federal lawmaker said the visit was primarily to express gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his exemplary leadership and support towards the establishment of the Federal Orthopaedic Hospital in Billiri, as well as the Governor’s commitment to the planned overhaul and upgrade of the General Hospital, Billiri.

Hon. Ali Isa explained that the meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss broader matters of governance, legislative collaboration and sustained support for constituency-driven interventions at the National Assembly, particularly projects designed to improve the well-being of the people of Balanga/ Billiri and Gombe State in general.

He added that the visit was also part of his ongoing consultations with political stakeholders across his federal constituency and Gombe State, stressing that conversations surrounding his political future and the state of affairs in his party were still underway.

“I came alongside the Chairman of PDP in Billiri LGA, Hon. Lewi Lasare and other stakeholders, to appreciate His Excellency because governance is not a one-man affair. He has been supportive to us even though we are in the opposition.

There is a need for collaboration, and the Governor has been supportive of our legislative efforts at the National Assembly. Each time we bring any projects under our constituency intervention, we find support at home from His Excellency,” he stated.

The lawmaker pointed out some of his landmark legislative achievements, including the establishment of the Federal Orthopaedic Hospital, Billiri, a bill he personally sponsored at the National Assembly and which has since been assented to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the Gombe State Government has already provided a permanent site for the hospital, a development he described as a major milestone that will position the facility to serve not only Balanga and Billiri Federal Constituency, but the entire state and neighbouring regions.

He emphasized that the synergy between the state government and federal legislators, regardless of political differences, remains critical to delivering meaningful development to the people.

On speculations surrounding a possible political defection, Hon. Ali maintained that consultations were still ongoing.

“Yes, we are discussing political issues, including the situation in our party. At the appropriate time, we will make our position known. We are still consulting widely. Once we conclude, we will make our position public,” he said.
