FIC Report (Ebonyi State) – Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as transformative infrastructure development across the South-East, while commissioning multiple constituency projects in the state.
Speaking to journalists after inspecting and commissioning projects, Nwebonyi declared that Tinubu’s administration has changed the narrative in the region.
Tinubu is the best thing that has happened not just to Ebonyi State, but the entire country,” he said. “He has given South-East people a reason to believe in the APC.”
The senator cited major federal projects as evidence of commitment to the zone. “You can see the Second Niger Bridge, the ongoing dualisation of Onitsha-Enugu road, and the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt road. Even when we did not vote for him, he is still working for us,” he added, referencing the Second Niger Bridge and other key road projects.
He further disclosed that new road links connecting Cross River through Amasiri to Mbeke-Ishieke, as well as routes leading to Benue and Abuja, are underway. “Who else would have remembered the South-East this way if not President Tinubu?” he queried, urging massive support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
At the commissioning of a classroom block at Otam Edda Primary School, Nwebonyi emphasized the importance of education. “We are trying to create a more conducive learning environment because this is the foundation of education. This is to complement what President Tinubu is doing and what Governor Nwifuru is also doing for our children,” he said.
Representing the governor, the Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, praised the senator’s performance, describing it as impactful and people-oriented.
Emegha also urged the senator to sustain the momentum while challenging other office holders. APC will always support those who represent the people effectively,” he added.
Projects commissioned and inspected during the tour spanned Abakaliki, Izzi, and Ebonyi Local Government Areas, including roads, schools, a motorised borehole, and market infrastructure.
