FIC Report (Lagos State) – The Lagos State Government has strengthened its commitment to youth leadership development through a new partnership with the Federal Government aimed at preparing young Nigerians for bigger roles in governance and national growth.

The collaboration, announced ahead of the Abuja Dialogue on Youth Leadership on April 13, highlights Lagos’ continued focus on building a strong pipeline of future leaders through structured training, mentorship, and direct exposure to public service.

From Lagos’ perspective, the initiative aligns with the state’s ongoing investment in human capital and leadership grooming, especially through platforms like the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy. It also reinforces the state’s belief that national progress depends on deliberately preparing young people for leadership responsibilities.

The move reflects Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s broader vision of youth inclusion and capacity building, with Lagos increasingly positioning itself as a model for practical leadership development in Nigeria.

By partnering with the Federal Government, Lagos is extending its leadership development approach beyond the state level and helping shape a national framework that can produce competent young leaders for the future.

As preparations continue for the Abuja dialogue, the partnership is being seen as another step in Lagos’ effort to combine its economic strength with a growing influence in governance and talent development.
