……….396,671 households captured in Ondo.
………..Over nine million households benefit nationwide — Minister.
FIC Report (Ondo State) – Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called for stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and states to improve delivery of social intervention programmes.
He made the call while receiving the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard M. Doro, in Akure, commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Renewed Hope cash transfer initiative targeting vulnerable households.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that 396,671 households in Ondo have benefited across three tranches, while the South-West has received about N62 billion. He noted challenges with NIN registration and urged improved data updates for seamless payments.
Minister Doro said the programme has delivered N75,000 in three tranches to over nine million households nationwide, with Ondo receiving about N9.9 billion. He, however, raised concerns over low public awareness and stressed the need for better communication and transparency.
He added that selected beneficiaries would be engaged to confirm payments as part of a validation process aimed at improving accountability and future social protection programmes.
