FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Kaduna State Government represented by the ACReSAL Project has signed three (3) contracts worth over fifty Billion Naira for the construction of critical flood and gully erosion control measures in Rigasa/Tudun Wada, Kawo and Zaria township within Kaduna State.

Following a rigorous and transparent procurement process, the contracts were awarded to three (3) reputable construction firms: Mothercat Nigeria Ltd, CGC Nigeria Ltd and Spectrum Nigeria Limited.

The contract details are: the Rigasa/Tudun-Wada Construction Corridor was awarded to Mothercat Nigeria Limited. The project, stretches over seventeen (17) kilometers, and will involve structural engineering and bio-remediation works to stabilize the soil and control water flow using reinforced concrete open channels with sections along the corridor and transition zones.
The Kawo Corridor project was awarded to Spectrum Engineering Limited. Covering a stretch of over three (3) kilometers, the project will expand water channels to control washouts, while surface protection measures such as stone pitching, composites and bio-remediation techniques will be deployed along the corridor.
Similarly, the Zaria Corridor project was awarded to CGC Nigeria Limited spanning more than eleven (11) kilometers, the project will feature preventive engineering structures designed to improve water flow capacity while protecting adjoining properties and public infrastructure from erosion and flood damage.

These interventions will address the growing challenges of flooding, gully erosion, and land degradation affecting communities across the State in addition to protecting lives, infrastructure, livelihoods, and the environment while enhancing climate resilience and sustainable land management, reflecting the shared commitment of the Kaduna State Government and ACReSAL Project to combating land degradation and improving ecological sustainability for present and future generation.
