The Occasion marked the lead-up to the highly anticipated official launch of the University of Benin Trust Development Fund, set for July 4th, 2026. He passionately appealed to UNIBEN Alumni, urging them to play an active role in funding and supporting the Trust Initiative, which aims to secure the university’s financial independence and foster sustainable growth. “Institutions that succeed are those that diversify their income streams, embrace technological advancements, and build enduring partnerships,” Ize-Iyamu stated. “This evolving landscape underscores the importance of a robust financial and developmental framework—one that empowers UNIBEN to excel in teaching, research, infrastructure development, entrepreneurship, and human capital formation for generations to come.”
The Trust Fund, he explained, is a strategic move designed to bolster UNIBEN’s capacity to undertake ambitious projects that will elevate its Academic Standards and Infrastructure.
